New Albany, Mississippi: Vance Witt, Chairman and CEO of BNA Bancshares, Inc. announces the election of William Thomas “Tommy” Shannon to its board of directors. Mr. Shannon will also serve on the board of directors of BNA Bank, a wholly owned subsidiary of BNA Bancshares, Inc., a bank holding company.
Mr. Shannon is President of Union Grocery, Inc. where he has been a longtime employee. He and his wife of forty-three years, Dot, are members of First United Methodist Church. Mr. Shannon is an active member of the community and the bank feels he will be a positive addition to our board.
“We are looking forward to working with Tommy and we welcome him to the board,” said Witt.
A life-long resident of Union County, Shannon graduated from New Albany High School and studied Banking and Finance at the University of Mississippi. Shannon is the son of the late Robert James “Bob” and Elsie Pugh Shannon. Tommy and Dot have two children, Lilla Lauren Nelson (Benji) and James Tucker Shannon (Melanie). They have four grandchildren.
“I hope to be a diligent addition to the board and a trustworthy representative of the shareholders,” Shannon said.
Currently serving on the board of directors of BNA Bancshares, Inc and its subsidiary, BNA Bank are: Vance Witt (Chairman and CEO of BNA Bank), James R. Collins (President of BNA Bank), William O. Rutledge III, Dr. Thomas Barkley, Dr. Sam Creekmore, Mr. Joe Parks and newly appointed Tommy Shannon.
