New Albany, Mississippi– Recognizing that our city and county’s most precious resource is our children, and realizing that the need to educate them to their fullest potential is of utmost importance not only to our community but to our state and nation as well, BNA Bank established the BNA Bank Scholarships for deserving seniors who plan to attend college in Mississippi.
All graduating high school seniors who plan to attend college in Mississippi are eligible to submit an application. The applications are reviewed and scored based on the following criteria: ACT or SAT Composite Scores, Grade Point Average, student curriculum, financial need, extra-curricular activities, and work activities.
“Our scholarship process is a very fair one,” remarked Senior Vice President Mike Staten. “We use out of town judges who review applications not knowing the student’s identity.”
BNA Bank awards a $500.00 scholarship to a senior at each of the four high schools located in our county and two $500.00 scholarships to two seniors at New Albany High School. This year’s recipients are:
New Albany: Mary Katherine Kitchens, daughter of Dave and Trisha Kitchens; Jud Roberts, son of Rickey and Marsha Roberts. Both Mary Katherine and Jud plan to attend Mississippi State University.
